Congressman Gets High Marks from the National Federation of Independent Business
Washington, D.C. (October 25, 2016) – The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), the nation’s leading representative of small business owners, is endorsing Rep. Darin LaHood (IL-18) for re-election. LaHood has a strong record of supporting legislation that would help small businesses and should be returned to the U.S. House of Representatives.
“Even in his short time in Congress, Congressman Darin LaHood has been a defender of Illinois small business owners,” said NFIB/Illinois State Director Kim Maisch. “He stood with small business on every critical vote that came before him. He voted against oppressive regulations and for tax relief. He deserves to be re-elected so that he can continue the good work.”
“As small businesses and families continue to struggle to make ends meet all across central and west central Illinois, it is critical that we support small businesses, the backbone of our communities,” said LaHood. “For small business to thrive in Illinois we must work to cut burdensome regulations, make health care more affordable, and reform our broken tax code. I am proud to stand with small businesses and hard-working families across our district; it is a great honor to have the support of the NFIB.”
LaHood qualified for an endorsement from the NFIB by achieving a high rating on votes scored in the current Congress. The Congressman earned 100 percent on the six votes NFIB monitored since LaHood won his seat. The list of the votes is available here.
LaHood’s endorsement today comes from the NFIB SAFE Trust, the organization’s political action committee. Small business owners vote in high percentages and they are influential in their communities.
